Name of the guild.

I find this to be a very important part of the guild.
Currently i got a few ideas.
The first name is the name Elloa came up with when she first posted the idea.
A thing to keep in mind when thinking of a name, this guild is evil. We're specially focused around magic and we're also interrested in having a LOT of power*Coughs* World domination*Coughs*
We are a sinister, evil, cruel, secret sociaty. Our color will most likely be red, as that is a color the belf seems to like a lot, and it is also the color of blood, war, fire.((Yes i know it is the color of wuuuuv aswell, but wuv got nothing to do with us;P))
One keyword is secret, so something mysterious that actually makes sense if you know what it means, would be perfect!

1: Red Dawn

2: Crimson Dawn/Fury

3: Sin'Dorei/Zaram(meaning, Blood Borne/Blade)

4: Vicious Entity

5: Translating a name using the Belf langue, when TBC is released.

6: Cthonic Entities

7: Obscura Legion

8: The Arcane Crusaders/Order

Any other suggestions is of course more than welcome.

No offence, but it would be nice if you could come with serious suggestions for names you actually think it should be, names that you like.
If that is the case with all of them i'll list them as suggestions, just how it sounded it was like it was some random names you just came up with;P

For me Red Dawn is really good. it's certainly better than Red Wizard, cause Red Wizard is the name of the rank.

I prefer something "neutral" as Red Dawn than name with blood or renvenge. This name seem more mature. And it's better for a "secret" society. If we want keep the secret we can not claim us more bloody than horde is usualy.. So ...


For the tabard, I really would like to make something uncommon : a full red tabard without border and without icon. That will express the unknow mysteries arround Red Dawn.

My suggestions is an alteration of Red Dawn or an completly new one... because I honestly didn't liked it, sounded to "easy going" and not so evil.

So my suggestions is the following;

Crimson Dawn
or
Crimson Fury

A couple of reasons:
1) Definition of the word 'crimson': Noun; a deep and vivid red
2) Another definition of the word 'crimson': Adjective; characterized by violence or bloodshed
3) Sounds more serious (imo).

So, definition of the guild name would be either "Violent and bloodshedding break of day (or something like it)" or "Violent and bloodshedding fury", if you use your imagination anyway.

The only thing I could think of would make it rather bad is that it kind of reminds me of the Crimson Eagles... but personally, I don't see that as a big problem.

Anyway, I don't have a big issue with Red Dawn... it's just not prefered by me, but so far a top suggestion.

Crimson, Purple, Scarlet ..i don't really mind even if I prefer to keep the name "red" in ...just because of the Red Mage of Thay. I would like a link could be keeped in the name. But it's not really important.

Until now I prefer Red Dawn.

And perhaps you're all right that Crimson is a popular part of a guild name.
But you can't exactly say Red Dawn is very original either. It sounds like a name thought up in 5 seconds like.
"Hmm, what should our guild be named?"
"What about...Red Dawn?"
"Sure, why not?"

I'm pretty neutral on all this naming ztuff, i think both Crimson and Red can work.

Firstly would like to say that I am in no way going to be part of your new BE guild, Elloa is aware of this. However, I am impressed with your organisation and although I have no solid idea's for names to add, just though I'd throw something out at you all.

Why don't you try thinking outside of the "box" as it were and drop the colour part altogether? Any guild name with a colour followed by a random word has the potential to sound good and give off what the guild is trying to set, however, they also all sound so over used, cliché and as previously said...thought of in 5 seconds. Perhaps trying to think of a name that will make other players ASK why you are called it, the mystery surrounding the guild may also be increased by this as no one will know the true meaning until they are in the upper ranks?

In a french server they were a guild of night elves only with only white haire, called "Lloth".

It was just great....Because, for poeple who know who is Lloth, the meaning of the guild were obvious..For the others a full mysteries.

Lloth ? It's the goddess of Drow, the spider Goddess in Dungeon&Dragon Forgotten Realm.

Personally i would say Sin'Dorei sounds pretty nice.

Taking inspiration from D&D is not recommended for WoW. They are completely different entities and D&D attracts far too much attention and "claims" basis on all MMo's as it is.

Possibly, but to be safe i'd just make the name a complete brainchild of you or the other members... not primarily based on one idea from such a popular franchise. Just seems like a false basis to me.
